I thoroughly enjoyed working on this project with Tattoo. They gave me the time and freedom to write and design this entire campaign. The feeling I always get at the fair is the memories of being a kid and sheer joy the fairs food, lights, rides and shows create. I wanted to capture this feeling through a design that was type dominant and in a color scheme that was inspired by the North Carolina State flag. The retro Fair typefaces bright lights and fun writing made this the perfect campaign. I love the fair and I love this campaign almost as much.
First we created social media events including bumper cars that could be used anywhere like local farmers markets. Not only did people get a kick out of it they took pictures and shared them spreading the word the Fair was coming soon. Fun and memorable this is gorilla marketing that went viral.
